Bloom Plant Box

Bloom plant boxes are currently available on By Making's online shop.

Bloom is a contemporary twist on a well-known object. Made in Trinidad & Tobago using the same time-tested processes as the iconic red mailboxes that dot the local landscape, Bloom pushes form for function, style, and delight.

Available in three colours, your Bloom can be used in different ways: Stake it into the ground, hang it, or place it in its saucer for a burst of brightness and cheer.

Peera

Powder coated aluminium
Peera is a metal reinterpretation of a small, traditional, usually homemade wooden bench.

By Making has produced several versions of Peera – the first comes with a wooden case: sit on it, unpack it for two separate seats, stand on it to reach higher, or use it to carry objects.

We’ve also produced the Peera-H Stool. This bar-height seating continues By Making’s narrative of duality – take your metal Peera off the legs and use it elsewhere for functions close to the ground, and then perch on the wooden stool once you’re done. Or, keep the components together and sit up in style.

Charm Table

In this small space I wanted something dramatic, something emotionally large, while being elegant and soft. The most dramatic feature of the table are the stilt-like hand turned legs inspired by the moko jumbie/stilt walkers, a feature of our Carnival celebrations. The bean like table top was in response to the space and added to creating a sense of ease of accessing the window side of the table. Due to the table top shape the legs are asymmetrical, exaggerating the splay of the legs and their relationship to the table top and the floor. At the centre of the table there is a storage compartment so items can quickly be put away at a moment's notice.

MR Side Table

Powder coated steel and teak
The MR Side Table plays off a traditional Carnival character, the Midnight Robber. The central component of this table is a turned teak version of a traditional cooking gas cylinder.

Verb

Powder coated aluminium and mahogany
Verb is a multi-functional object that can be easily manipulated in form – from stable, balanced objects like a table, bench, sculpture, or bookcase, to dynamic forms that perambulate, rock or spin.
